The KMT has announced it will hold a special party congress in Taipei on October 17th to select a new presidential candidate to replace Hung. According to party sources, a decision on whether or not to revoke Hung's candidacy could be made at the congress by applause, a show of hands, or a paper ballot.
If the KMT votes to remove her, the congress will immediately be recessed so that the party's nomination committee can recommend a new candidate.
