that this rust fungus infected E. camaldulensis, E. microcorys, E. tereticornis, E. viminalis, and Myrtus communis as previously reported (Alfenas et al. 2003; Coutinho et al.1998; Rayachhetry et al. 2001) (Table 1). Because P. psidii has a wide host range in the family Myrtaceae, measures should be taken to prevent spread of this rust to eucalyptus,myrtle, and other plants cultivated in Japan.
