. Make a large pot of mint tea, let it cool and use to make ice cubes. Add to a glass of water from the tap. Works equally well with lemon and ginger tea too.
2. Slice cucumber lengthways, about three inches long. Add to a jug of water in the fridge and leave overnight. The result is delicious lightly flavoured water. Discard the cucumber after 24 hours as it gets mushy.
. Slice fresh ginger, place in a small heatproof bowl and add just-boiled water. Allow to cool then mash the ginger with a fork or the back of a spoon. Repeat three times and use to make ice cubes or add a drizzle to a glass of simple tap water.
4. Boil some water, allow to cool a little and add to a heat-proof bowl. Stir in fresh basil leaves, place in the fridge for a few hours. Once cool fish the leaves out and enjoy the water.
