Participants were asked to complete an online survey about their uses of new mediatechnologies to communicate with their parents. After consenting to participate in thisstudy, participants provided basic demographic information. The survey program theninquired the participants to choose from a list of new media technologies they often useto communicate with their parents. Based on the technology selected, the survey programassigned the participants to specify the parents they mostly utilize. The questionnaire wasthen automatically adjusted based on the contexts participants selected above.
