The director of education in Helsinki, Finland, announced in 2015 that a new teaching method would be implemented to replace sub-disciplinary teaching with "theme teaching", such as "EU" theme covering economics, history, geography and foreign languages instead of English literature, which is a cross-disciplinary study.
