FAB Universal (NYSE MKT: FU), a worldwide distributor of digital entertainment, announced that it hosted international pop star Ziqi Deng, at its 30,000 sq. ft. Joy City flagship store, as part of her launch tour for her new album Xposed. Over one thousand fans showed up to meet the artist, get autographs, purchase albums and take pictures.
This is the fifth album for Deng, 21, whose first four albums reached number 1 on Hong Kong radio and music charts. Deng, the youngest singer to ever perform in the famed Hong Kong Coliseum, has sold out the prestigious venue on five occasions. Deng, also known as G.E.M. (Get Everyone Moving) has received over 50 million views on her YouTube Page, has over 2.5 million followers on the Facebook like site Weibo and enjoys a wide range of fans from Australia, UK, USA and China.
FAB’s Retail distribution business is built around large, showcase retail stores located in high-end shopping malls that sell media content and related media devices. FAB’s flagship stores serve as showcases for movie and music star autograph appearances. Through licensing agreements signed with media companies, FAB is able to use its stores as platforms for star signing ceremonies, with over 2,000 events attended by millions of fans under its belt, FAB’s Retail operation has grown to become one of China’s most well-known venue for new media releases and announcements.
In addition to generating significant revenue selling traditional media, the stores are flagships for building FAB brand awareness with consumers and promoting the expansion of FAB’s franchises.
G.E.M.’s new album, Xposed, was released digitally in collaboration as an exclusive with iTunes. Deng sang two songs from the Xposed album, “Bubble” and “Miracle.”
