She studied at Tessa Mounder Ballet School (1965-77) and at the Australian Ballet School (from 1977). She joined the Australian Ballet in 1981, becoming a soloist in 1983 and a principal in 1986. She created roles in Murphy's Gallery (1987), Baynes's Ballade (1988), and Catalyst (1990). A strong dancer with great stamina, she excelled in the classical repertoire and, while in Australia, in the full-length Cranko ballets as well. Together with her husband, fellow dancer Greg Horsman, she joined English National Ballet in 1994. There she created the title role in Corder's Cinderella (1996) and the Queen of Hearts in Deane's Alice in Wonderland (1995). She also appeared as a guest artist with Boston Ballet, Kirov Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet. She retired due to injury in 1999.
