(1) The cable stayed has a fixed end at its top and a movable end at its bottom in the vertical
plane. The inclination of the cable is denoted by and the yawed angle of the incident
wind is denoted by (see Figure 2). The static tension in the cable is often very high and
consequently the sag of the cable is small. Because of small sag, the inclination of the cable
is regarded as being constant for the whole cable.
