8.Where and how re-drying of electrodes is done:
Re-dry electrodes in suitable ovens. Increase the drying temperature gradually and not very steeply. Small round shaped holding ovens (often used in project sites) are quite useful for re-drying purpose. Such ovens are not expensive and can generate heat up to 250 °C or so.
Re-drying the moist electrode by touching the tip of the electrode and keeping in contact with the job/other metallic body and allowing passage of current without formation of arc (short circuiting ) or by heating with flame should not be tried as such heating will most likely weaken the adherence between the coating and core wire.
