经济的不断发展带来的是对高品质医疗服务的需求，医疗行业正处于一个急需变革不断提高的时期。针对众多医院药品管理的所有资料仍然都是用Office中的Excel软件加上手工记录，效率底下且错误率高的实际状况，迫切需要开发一个现代化的医院药品管理系统，来替代传统的药品管理方法，解决医疗行业存在的问题[1]。医院药品管理系统将信息技术用于医院药物信息的管理, 研发出与医院药品相关的病人、医生、药品管理员等三种角色的功能模块，外加负责系统人员管理的系统管理员角色的功能模块，完成医院药品管理相关的主要业务功能，将药品的管理实现电子化。病人挂号模块提供给病人挂号功能方便病人就医买药，帮助病人简化挂号就医的流程，医生模块提供给医务人员在线诊疗功能，将开单开药放在网上在线进行。药品管理员模块则提供完整的药品管理业务操作，所有药品的管理工作，诸如药品出售，进货，库存管理等，都可以轻松通过系统统一完成，管理医院药品相关操作流程，对药品的流通情况进行自动登记，协助医院提高门诊和药品管理的工作效率。系统管理员模块则重点起到系统的人员维护作用。
系统采用Java Web编程语言，医院药品管理项目依据B/S模式进行构建，应用三层MVC框架，采用Jsp，Servlet技术来开发，数据管理则使用My SQL数据库实现。
