Description of Goods
Be sure to provide a full written description of the merchandise along with the NMFC item number and freight class. Without this information the carriers cannot accurately calculate freight charges. If you do not have this specific information, contact the L.L.Bean Transportation Department for instructions.
Do not ship merchandise at a release value without permission from the L.L.Bean Transportation Department
Shipper will identify all edible materials when tendered to Carrier by including the word "Foodstuff" on the bill of lading.
Do not ship merchandise at a release value without permission from the L.L.Bean Transportation Department.
Please be sure to note the correct consignee address on the Bill of Lading. Shipments that have to be re-routed due to incorrect ship to address will result in a chargeback (see Chargeback Policy).
Purchase Orders
Multiple purchase orders should be combined to make a complete shipment if all of the purchase orders are shipping to the same warehouse. Do not ship each purchase order out individually. Please list all purchase order numbers in the purchase order number field on the Bill of Lading. If there is not enough room in the PO field, then please mark "Purchase Order Number(s)" and list the POs in the body of the Bill of Lading.
