Apply the load until the cylinder fails, and record themaximum load, to either two or three significant digits, carriedby the cylinder during the test. For about one out of every tencylinders, continue the loading until the cylinder breaksenough to examine the appearance of the interior of thespecimen. Note any apparent segregation, lenses, pockets, andthe like in the specimen.
