The FSS arrays are arranged on an FR4 substrate, with a
relative permittivity (er) of 4.4, a loss tangent of 0.025 and a
thickness H of 1.6 mm. The unit element's total length
(parameter L) is 7mmx7mm in (x, y) directions. The width of
metallic fractal lines (parameter w) is 0.2mm, and the gap
width between metallic fractal lines (parameter d) is also
O.2mm. Other parameters of structure are defmed as follows:
the total length of metallic structure W=6.8mm, the gap width
between the metallic structure D1=D2=O.4mm. The simulations
results of the proposed FSS are performed as fig.2 by using
CST Microwave Solver. Tn general, the simulations of FSSs are
executed under the assumption that they are infinite, although
they have finite dimensions in practical implementations. Thus,
the unit cell boundary conditions are applied on the four sides
of the unit cell of the (x, y) plane when the proposed FSS
structure was simulated in CST simulations. On the fig.2, the
characteristics of transmission and reflection coefficients are
presented.
