Cholera is an acute diarrheal by the Vibrio cholerae disease. Toxigenic Vibrio cholerae O1 and O139 serogroup can cause epidemic cholera. Cholera is usually the consumption of Vibrio cholerae contaminated with food or water. Human-to-human transmission is rare. The incubation period ranges from a few hours to 5 days, usually 2 - 3 days.
