As purse seiners usually start FAD set before dawn, the use of light has the advantage of reaching long distances. In the above procedures, the light level should be determined to create sufficient separation between the two species by referring to the information obtained in this study (Table 5). In the cage experiments we could make roughly 5–7m separation of the two species. When it comes to field application, using more potent lighting could make greater separation.
