The ligand H2L is remarkably soluble in polar aprotic
solvents such as DMF, DMSO and MeCN, and
also soluble in ethanol, methanol, THF, CH2Cl2 and
CHCl3, but insoluble in Et2O, n-hexane, water, and
petroleum ether. The Cu(II) complex is only soluble in
DMF and DMSO, but insoluble in the other sovents
mentioned above. The molar conductivities in DMF
solution indicate that H2L and the Cu(II) complex are
non-electrolytes [15].
