Tyre rotation on a vehicleThe tyres on a vehicle should be rotated regularly to help ensure even wear and maximum tread life.Tyres should be rotated as instructed in the vehicle owner’s manual, with special attention being given to the recommended interval for rotating tyres. Unless otherwise specified by the vehicle manufacturer, tyres should be rotated every 10,000 to 12,000 kilometers – or even earlier if the tread shows signs of uneven wear. In the latter case, the vehicle’s wheel alignment and pertinent mechanical components should be checked and corrected, if need be.Full-size spare tyres (not temporary spares) of the same size and design as the tyres in use on the vehicle should be included in the tyre rotation. In conjunction with the rotation, the full-size spare tyre’s inflation pressure should be checked and, if need be, corrected.A tyre’s inflation pressure must correspond to what is specified in the vehicle owner’s manual for the respective tyre position (recommended inflation pressure may differ for the front- and rear axle tyres).
