Many children exhibit problems with language skills as a result of a developmental delay, a disability, or the child may have a Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). According to Bishop et al. (2017), DLD refers to cases of language problems with no known biomedical etiology, significantly impacts everyday social interactions or educational progress, and are unlikely to resolve without the help of a specialists. Developmental Language Disorder encompasses a range of language problems to include the subgroup of semantics, the knowledge of word meanings (Bishop et al., 2017).
