Taxpayer Identification Number on file for you. IF you meet any of the following conditions, your action is needed:
· You are a U.S. citizen,
OR
· You have a Green Card, meaning that you are a non-U.S. citizen who is permitted to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis,
OR
· You meet the substantial presence test of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to determine whether you are considered a resident alien for federal tax purposes.

A Taxpayer Identification Number is necessary for the 1098-T Tuition Statement that the University is required to submit to the IRS for each of our students. The 1098-T is a form that provides students with information to assist them with filing for education tax benefits and tax credits on a federal tax return for U.S. residents.
