Studies testing exercise interventions of less than six months in duration suggested a 21% reduction on rate of falls beyond 12 months (RaR 0.79, 95% CI 0.72 to 0.87, 1575 participants, 6 studies, 8 interventions, I2 = 60%, Table 2). There was no difference in the risk of falling between intervention and control (RR 0.89, 95% CI 0.77 to 1.03, 1334 participants, 5 studies, 6 interventions, I2 = 49%, Table 2).
