We first consider the distinctive aspects of communicating empirical results—explaining what you have done, why you did it, and what you found, and displaying the results in tables and graphs. Then, recognizing that the investigator may not be communicating her results in written form, we describe the elements of an effective oral presentation of empirical work and the role of presentation software in those presentations.
