This study aims to conceptualize and characterize internationalization processes in Palestinian-Arab secondary schools in Tel Aviv-Jaffa. It focuses on two schools within the Palestinian-Arab sector, highlighting internationalization as it is perceived by minority populations. As the definition of internationalization is quite broad, this study focuses on assessment of the international dimension in schools according to predefined categories that were adapted from the de-Wit (2002) model of internationalization assessment in higher education systems. Moreover, the motivation of school principals to foster international activities was analyzed and differences between the two schools were identified and characterized. International involvement was defined in both schools with a wide range of activities, with differences apparent between the schools in the motivation for and the nature of such initiatives.
