DFS and FRB asked why the Soong, Yung-Fu customer was escalated from Low to High Risk and when this was identified. Joe explained that under the former Head of KYC Advisory the customer was placed on the EDD Tracker and when the analyst began periodic review, the Prime System identified the customer as having a low risk profile. As the former Head of KYC Advisory was no longer with the bank, Joe worked with the KYC team to remediate the EDD Tracker and identified 43 customers that had SAR Filings that were not properly notated and risk rated within their customer profiles. A memo was created and distributed, and these customers have since had the SAR indicated in their Prime profiles and are now properly showcasing as high risk within the PRIME System.
