● Fencing off the reserve, as a measure to control dumping and, importantly, allow control over domestic and feral predators
● Removal of alien mesquite (Prosopis juliflora) from the site and from drainage corridors on Phase 2 in particular, since this species abstracts groundwater that would otherwise be available to wetlands downstream.
Once the basic rehabilitation of the wetland had occurred and its protection was ensured through fencing and the establishment of a management regime, additional measures were recommended, some aimed at long-term management and others at the creation of additional habitat types and aesthetic improvements.
