We fully support the responses to our Making Open Data Real Consultation, which voiced the opinion that government should do more to protect individuals’ rights to privacy and the confi of the data it holds.
Despite the protections off ed by existing legislation and regulation, and guidance produced by the Information Commissioner’s Offi (ICO), there remains public concern that ill-thought-through transparency can erode trust and compromise privacy.
