However, as the plastic
deformation increases, its lubricating effect decreases dramatically,
so it is not suitable to utilise the vaseline as a lubricant in
cold rotary forging of spur bevel gears. By contrast, the MoS2 lubricant
presents preferable stability in lubricating effect even under
large plastic deformation. Accordingly, MoS2 is determined to be
the lubricant for the following experiments of cold rotary forging
of spur bevel gears, and the predicted friction factor m = 0.14,
determined by comparing the experimentally measured data and
the standard calibration curves, is specified at the die-workpiece
interface for the FE simulations of cold rotary forging of spur bevel
gears.
