Recent studies have added further associations: urban neighborhood disorder and lack of safety, and reduced physical activity among children and adolescents (Molnar et al., 2004); outdoor play facilities and children’s physical activity (Norman et al., 2006; Sallis et al., 2000); high-rise housing and an adverse relationship with health of low-income mothers of young children(Evans, Wells, & Moch, 2003); and the number of stories in public housing and child behavior (Saegert, 1982).
