They found (1) that family cohesion predicts the quality of the relationship with the successor for owner-managers but not for successors, (2) family adaptability positively effects the quality of the owner-manager and successor relationship, (3) family cohesion positively effects the family's commitment to the firm, (4) the family's commitment to the business is positively associated with the extent of succession planning, (5) the family's commitment to the firm positively effects the degree of successor training, and (6) the quality of relationship between the owner-manager and the successor positively effects the extent of successor training.
