All 72 learners on William’s team participated in the HJL project as part of their classwork. Students submitted Input and Reflection Forms to William via Google Forms (see Appendix A) at three intervals: before the project, roughly half-way through the project, and at the end of the project. Student responses on these forms were used to inform the whole group, small group, and individual instruction as well as one-on-one conferences and were thus not anonymous when shared with William. To investigate our research questions, we totaled the number of students in each response category of the Likert scales in prompts 2 and 4 of the Input and Reflection Forms completed at the end of the project.
