Upper Ordovician acritarchs were recovered from
only three samples at the topmost levels of the Kosov
Formation, correlated to theG. persculptusgraptolite
Zone, whereas palynological assemblages in the lower
levels are dominated by cryptospores. The acritarch
assemblage recovered from the Kosov Formation is
poorly diversified and moderately to poorly preserved
(Dufka and Fatka, 1993; pls. 1, 2), comprising a total of
22 species, 12 of which are recognized only at the
generic level (five questionably),
