SBP and DBP were measured twice using a HEM-705 sphygmomanometer(Omron) at the 60–64 years clinic visits. Thesecond reading (or first if missing) was used for analysis. Totalcholesterol, HDL, TAG and LDL were also measured in fastingblood samples as previously described(20,32). Information onthe use of antihypertensive and lipid-lowering drugs wasself-reported at 60–64 years.
