2.1.2. Effect of combined intermittent and continuous lightsThe conditions for each trial are shown in Table 3. Intermittent light and continuous light were assigned at different ends of the cage. In one series of trials (C-1 to C-3), five minutes after the start of the continuous light, intermittent light was added for another 5min. In trials C-4 and C-5, both continuous and intermittent lights started simultaneously. The LED devices were used at the 30 or 15% light level for both in- termittent and continuous light. For these trials, the light period was set to 15min except for C-4 (10 min).
