Dear All,
In continuation to the exchange of information on the “long bag filter development” as we all envisage, I would like to add that the Vietnam bag house is of 160dia x 9.4m lg & with 17bags being pulsed by a single valve, with 65NB valve size.
Whatever developments / testing we do, a rational approach needs to be taken w.r.t. bag length Vs bags being pulsed by a single valve. To share my experience from Intensive Coanda technology, the outer limits with 160 bag diameter, Pilot plant tested with dust, for needle felt fabric were
1. 12 m bag length with 17 bags being pulsed by a single valve
2. 10 m bag length with 22 bags being pulsed by a single valve
The end result of pulse pressure falling from header to bottom of bag after pulsing, were measured & based on test data, the required cleaning pressure was determined vis-à-vis bag length. In short, the cleaning pressure was fixed based on bag length, to have optimized cleaning.
To maintain the required Dp across the fabric, the “cycle time” of pulsing was maintained, to optimize the compressed air consumption. This was also pilot plant tested over a long period of time, to conclude the final result.
Another concept which gains importance in actual performance & guarantees, is to maximize “ Horizontal flow”, which will eliminate the effect of “can velocity”, to maintain lower Dp & emissions level. This is very critical for “high dust load” & “low bulk density” dust applications.
Knowledge of Fabric selection with special treatments, required fabric permeability, chemical effects on fabric from process conditions etc. plays a critical role in minimizing risk of guarantees. So, information & experience sharing within the KC group, will be of utmost importance.
Lastly, my best wishes to all for a “ Happy & prosperous new year-2015” & our next meeting in Kolkata, in end February, as fixed.
With best regards,
P.Maiti
