After several meetings with the museum curator, we concluded to a system that was ready to be set up in the exhibition area, where the experiments would take place. The position was decided based on two primary parameters: light and real artifacts' proximity. The chosen area would have consistent lighting that would be sufficient for lighting the image target, without casting shadows on it. Areas with backlight, areas where the light would be opposite the camera should also be avoided as it would cause the image of the camera to go dark, a common problem in digital cameras. We also avoided spaces where the main light was natural light, because of its unpredictability. Proximity to the real artifacts was also significant because we wanted the virtual experience to be combined with the real museum experience.
