The purpose of the current study was to examine the mediating role of competence contingent self-worth in relationships between parental conditional regard and perfectionism among adolescent athletes. On the basis of the aforementioned theory and research, it was hypothesized that parental conditional regard would exhibit a positive association with both perfectionistic strivings and perfectionistic concerns. In addition, it was expected that these positive associations would be mediated by competence contingent self-worth.
