Patient's mother was in an unexpected breech delivery and with patient's buttock and body being pushed out of mother's vagina on her way to the hospital.There was thick meconium stained liquor. Neonatal resuscitation was immediately started with oropharyngeal suction, stimulation and drying of baby. Oxygen, positive pressure ventilation with bag valve mask and chest compression were given. The first incubation attempt was difficult as patient had thick meconium stained liquor which obscured and obstructed the airway. Patient was given continuous positive pressure ventilation with bag valve mask and chest compression. Patient was later successfully intubated at about 9 minutes. Patient was given intravenous fluid afterwards and later escorted by our paediatric doctor to the neonatal intensive care unit of Queen Elizabeth hospital.
