These movement transitions can include the ones we casily think of, such as rolling getting in and out of sitting, and standing up. But there also are many times when small, subtle shifts in the center of mass and base of support are necessary to perform a skill that can be described as movement transition Therapists also must think about working for the larger transitional movements in smaller pieces, such as working to shift the weight in sitting just enough to facilitate a support reaction of an arm prior to turning to get down to the floor from a chair.
