4. A general guideline is given below to treat the unprotected electrodes under the scenarios mentioned in point 3:
a. Keep the electrodes tightly wrapped by suitable polythene cover / pouch (The old vacuum pack pouch if available in good condition may also be used). The tightness may be achieved by fixing fine threads or rubber bands over the polythene. It is better if another polythene cover can be put over the first cover. Put these “polythene covered” electrodes inside plastic or tin containers if such containers are available (old plastic electrode packets or containers are ideal).
b. Use these electrodes for welding at the earliest opportunity with the following conditioning:
