This is s great backpack. Very well made and heavy duty. We bought this for replacing a worn out school backpack and this is much better. The fabric is heavier and you can just tell this will last. I count 8 different pockets for storing items and the main pocket it huge, plenty of room to carry books and supplies. The one thing that I quickly noticed was the size of the zippers (see attached pictures). The zippers are larger than the average zipper which lends itself to being able to grab it quicker and it see to make the zipping and unzipping easier. I have no concerns about the zippers getting snagged or stuck. The other thing I like is the padded shoulder straps and the padding that would be against your back. Although we'll use this primarily as a school backpack, it could easily be used for day or weekend hikes. It comes with the waste buckle which is invaluable when on long hikes as it takes to load off your shoulders. We go out to Colorado every year and I could easily see this pack replacing one of our Odyssey backpacks.
