Angela and Wendy were colleagues in a trading company. They both loved wakeboarding and had been learning wakeboarding from their friends for about two months. However, they had not had any formal training in wakeboarding. On 1 October 2019, Angela and Wendy went to Sai Kung together to look for renting a motorboat and hiring a coxswain to drive the boat for wakeboarding for the day. When Angela and Wendy arrived at Sai Kung Pier, they asked a coxswain, called Keung, whether he could provide motorboat rental and driving the boat for wakeboarding for the day. Keung quoted $1500 cash payment for his wage for driving the motorboat and the motorboat rental charge for the day. Wendy then asked Keung if there were wakeboards for them to use. Keung replied Wendy that there were wakeboards on his motorboat. Afterward, Angela and Wendy paid $1500 to Keung and Keung drove the motorboat with Angela and Wendy to open sea area for wakeboarding. Angela and Wendy took turn to do wakeboarding, each time for about 5 to 10 minutes. When one of them was wakeboarding, the other one kept a look-out on the one wakeboarding. Other than the wakeboards on the boat, there were life jackets as well and worn only by the person wakeboarding. After wakeboarding for about one hour, Angela said she was tired and had a slight headache, but she recovered after resting on the boat for 10 minutes. Then Angela wakeboarded again, and Wendy kept a look-out on Angela. After a short while, when Angela was being towed on the wakeboard, she fell forward on to the sea and cried for help. By the time Angela was pulled up to the motorboat, she found herself very painful on her neck. Wendy requested Keung to return Sai Kung immediately. Wendy complained Keung that he did not give any proper advice to them when Angela was not feeling well. Wendy claimed that Angela’s neck pain was caused by Keung’s negligence. Keung was very angry about Wendy’s complaint and demanded Angela and Wendy to pay extra $500 for the wakeboard rental.Based on the above case scenario, answer the following two questions in essay form.
