Discovery Spaceship took off from the Kennedy Space Center on Florida's Atlantic coast. It was launched in order to send some new science supplies and other things that the International Space Station needed. This time Discovery Spaceship carried almost 8 , 000 kilograms of supplies for the International Space Station.
Before Discovery was launched, Rick Sturckow,one of the astronauts in the spaceship said to his partner on the ground by radio, "Thanks for everyone who helped prepare for this journey to the International Space Station, our journey would be more comfortable We're ready for stepping up the science on the International Space Station."
Because of the bad weather and a technical problem, the date which Discovery was sent up was canceled A week later people sent it up successfully.
Discovery spent 13 days flying to the International Space Station, and astronauts had three spacewalks after it was connected to the space station on Sunday. Eight mice traveled to the station by Discovery. They will live there for several months and help scientists study the astronauts' bone loss and people's bone disease on Earth.
