The online questionnaire consisted of three sections. The first section asks adolescentsabout the medium technology and usage frequency they use to communicate with theirparents. The second section asks about adolescents’ perceptions of using new mediatechnology, such as motivation, relational maintenance, and intimacy in comparison withface-to-face communication with parents. Other self-report psychological scales were alsoincluded, such as family communication patterns and communication reticence. The thirdsection asks for the background information and family situation of the adolescents, such asgender, age, residence, parents’ education, and number of family members.
