Description and Evidence for Specific Interventions in Social Skills GroupsMost of the studies examining the effectiveness of social skills groups have been small and methodologically weak criticisms of these studies include inadequate measurement of social skills and deficits, small and poorly characterized samples, minimal examination of the degree to which learned skills generalize, inadequate dosage, lack of intervention fidelity, and lack of client-centeredness in matching a strategy to the individual needs of a child.
