OIL SYSTEM D/O (3)DESCRIPTION (continued)FUEL OIL HEAT EXCHANGER (FOHE)The Fuel Oil Heat Exchanger (FOHE) is installed on the upper righthand side of the fan case above the oil tank. The FOHE is dividedinto two main parts:- a heat exchanger assembly,- a fuel filter housing assembly.The heat exchanger assembly has a core with fuel tubes attached tobaffle and end plates. The oil cools as it flows around the tubes andplates. A bypass valve makes sure that the core is protected in caseof oil abnormal pressure. There is an oil drain plug at the bottom ofthe core for servicing purposes.
